It also happens to be going for the bargain price of free on Steam as well as the developer page. Now here's a revamped version of it called Endless Sky which supposedly made some improvements but is still in that familiar 2D and when I saw some screenshots I was overwhelmed with nostalgia. Best thing were some of the mods available for it, like the Star Wars or Star Trek mod.
I had even bought the EV Nova version for my PC when it came out. I remember when I was able to afford a Kestrel.
It came out on the Mac and I spent many a night playing it after hours in the lab since I didn't have a Mac at home, setting up trade routes, fighting pirates, buying upgrades to my ship and better ships. One of my fondest gaming memories is playing a simple little 2D game that I'm sure many of you may have played called Escape Velocity.
